One of the most exciting moments has been seeing how motivated students are to perform well on their assessments, knowing that their effort and achievement will be recognized. The snacks have become a powerful incentive—students genuinely look forward to them, and it has created a positive culture around academic success. What was once a challenge to consistently provide has now become a sustainable and rewarding system for celebrating student growth.\r\n\r\nWhen the students were first introduced to the materials, their reactions were overwhelmingly positive. They were especially excited about the snacks, which brought energy and enthusiasm into the classroom. Additionally, the new headsets have been a game changer. Previously, many of our classroom headsets were broken or unreliable, which made it difficult for students to fully engage in digital learning activities. Now, students can participate more effectively in online assignments, videos, and interactive lessons without frustration or interruption.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these resources will continue to support our ongoing classroom goals. Students will be using the headsets for individualized learning tasks, including interactive science activities and review sessions that reinforce key concepts. The snack-based incentive system will remain an important part of encouraging accountability and effort as we move into upcoming units and assessments. Thanks to your generosity, my students are not only better equipped but also more motivated, confident, and excited about learning each day.","fullyFundedDate":1774077301141,"projectUrl":"project/recognizing-proficiency-one-snack-at-a/9980794/","projectTitle":"Recognizing Proficiency, One Snack at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Newman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8500904_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y772&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1678386025672","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8500904"},{"teacherId":1299876,"projectId":9719925,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your generous contribution to our science classroom. In a subject defined by discovery, having the right tools makes all the difference in transforming abstract concepts into tangible, memorable experiences for my students.\r\n\r\nStudents are actively testing hypotheses and observing reactions firsthand. Seeing the excitement in a student's eyes when an experiment succeeds is a direct result of your kindness, and it reinforces their confidence in pursuing STEM subjects.\r\n\r\nThank you for choosing to support the next generation of scientists, engineers, and critical thinkers. Your commitment to education ensures that our classroom remains a place of innovation and high-quality instruction. We have had a wonderful time designing 3d cars that will hold and egg and withstand impacts with walls to study impulse and momentum. We have even tied it to our unit on work and energy. This is just the beginning. We have plans to create habitats for the Moon and create models of what we find in our galaxy and the universe. We are also hoping to 3d print telescope tubes to make telescopes from lenses and mirrors for our telescope unit.\r\nI can't tell you what this means to our students and our school. Most students have electronic devices but very few have the ability to create something on paper and then print it out in 3 dimensions. They are getting exposed to technologies used in the real world that we normally can't expose them to in the classroom. \r\nAlthough Physics is seen as a \"too hard\" class because of all the math, our students are seeing that Physics is just a way for us to understand how things work so they can make a better world for themselves and others. They are getting hands-on practical exposure and many are finding they really enjoy it.\r\nThere are some other ways our students are learning as well. Many of their car designs were too small to even hold an egg, or too big and bulky. They learned about how sometimes prototypes are not what they envisioned and had to re-design. This is a great life lesson as well. They are learning from their mistakes. \r\n\r\nAgain, thank you so much for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1762849358832,"projectUrl":"project/if-they-build-it-they-will-learn/9703423/","projectTitle":"If They Build It, They Will Learn","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Hing","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2415046_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1528388217717","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/dr-hing-hickman"},{"teacherId":8920191,"projectId":9561247,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the incredibly generous donation of high-quality ink — it's already transformed our photography program by allowing students to produce professional-grade prints for their portfolios without the constant worry of supply costs. Having reliable, archival ink lets students experiment with color management, print calibration, and finishing techniques that mirror industry standards, giving them hands-on experience with the full professional workflow. This support not only raises the quality of their work but also boosts their confidence and competitiveness when applying for internships, college programs, and freelance opportunities in the field of professional photography.\r\n\r\nA polished, professional portfolio gives college admissions and scholarship committees clear evidence of a student's technical skills, creative vision, and commitment, often making applications stand out and opening doors to competitive programs and mentorships.\r\n\r\nThis donation also promotes equity across our school by ensuring that all students — regardless of their financial background — have access to the same high-quality materials needed to build competitive portfolios.
