The lavalier microphones and headphone splitters will increase the productivity of the students submitting virtual recordings of the music they are learning. The microphones would be split between chorus, and band and orchestra students who do not currently have a good microphone for music recording. Many students are using chromebooks to complete work in music applications and the recording quality is so poor that teachers are having a difficult time hearing the submission and giving an appropriate grade.
MHS music students need quality microphones to be successful in virtual learning and will need hands free access to water when returning to in-person instruction.
When students return to in-person learning, the chorus room would benefit from a touch less filtered water station to promote healthy voices. Currently, we have a sink with spring loaded handles that can only be used manually. Students typically leave the classroom to walk down the hall to the nearest water fountain when they need a drink of water during a 90 minute rehearsal. This would minimize distractions and provide water for healthy singing.
