We have been using these materials to make amazing artwork. They have been super excited to earn their prizes from the art store with the new donations. It has made a huge difference in behavior because they know there are new, exciting prizes to earn. The kids are absolutely OBSESSED with the crayon sharpener. They have never seen anything like it and are used to throwing away broken crayons, so when I showed them how the sharpener works, they were astonished.\r\nThey recently finished making their winter landscape projects in which they got to use acrylic paint for the first time this schoolyear! We learned about the art element of value to create different shades, tints and tones of blue. We also learned about collaging to add the features of our forest to the landscape. We are currently working on our Black History Month projects in which the kids are learning about Jean Michel Basquiat and Faith Ringgold.
