This experience gave them a deeper understanding of where food comes from, the importance of caring for the environment, and the value of patience and teamwork.\r\n\r\nFor many of our students, this was their first time gardening. The excitement of seeing their efforts turn into living plants sparked curiosity and pride. The slow rising stress cubes help my students when their hands are fidgety. The weighted capybara plush has been a hit amongst my students and has reduced their anxiety brilliantly. The color changing putty has helped students improve their focus within the classroom. The Needoh fidgets have assisted my students to redirect their nervous system by providing a healthy distraction to keep on task. Overall the fidgets have been so beneficial to my students and has encouraged them to stay engaged throughout the school day. It is also wonderful seeing my students excited to see and try out the new fidgets in my room. \r\n\r\n\r\nI am very grateful to have a variety of snacks in my room. Sometimes students come to school tired, distracted, or just plain hungry, and having something quick to eat can completely turn things around for them. A simple snack can help them focus, stay energized, and feel a little more at ease during long stretches of learning. Teachers have already noticed that when kids know snacks are available, they're more comfortable, more engaged, and a lot less stressed. It's amazing how something as small as a granola bar or a pack of crackers can lift a student's spirits, calm their nerves before a test, or help them refocus when they're having a tough day. Your donation brings those little moments of relief and encouragement into our classrooms, and it shows our students that people in their community really care about them. That kind of support goes a long way in creating a warm, welcoming school environment where students feel seen and supported.\r\n\r\nWe honestly can't thank you enough for stepping in to help meet such an important need. Your generosity doesn't just fill empty stomachs, it gives students the confidence and comfort they need to get through their day. It helps them stay present in class, connect better with their classmates, and tackle their work with more energy and optimism. And we see it every single day: the smile when a student realizes there are snacks available, the relief when someone admits they skipped breakfast but now can grab something, or the quiet thank-you from a kid who really needed that extra boost. Those are the moments your kindness makes possible. You've helped create a school atmosphere where students feel cared for, and that makes learning so much easier for them. We're truly grateful for your kindness and for thinking of our students in such a thoughtful, practical way. Your support means a lot—to us, to our teachers, and especially to the kids who benefit from your generosity every day. Thank you again for being part of their success and for helping us make sure every student has what they need to learn and thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1758852651534,"projectUrl":"project/food-is-fuel-for-learning/9748407/","projectTitle":"Food is Fuel for Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Richards","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1517189_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y112&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1666393351701","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/patti-richards"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_61358","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1082,"numTeachers":60,"percentFrplEligible":57,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":19,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":53,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":2,"percentMultiracialImputed":13,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"18.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.5,"schoolId":61358,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Martin Luther King Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Martin Luther King Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/oceanside-unified-school-district/martin-luther-king-middle-school/61358"}
