I have 100+ 7th and 8th grade AVID students and 35 7th grade English Language Arts students. We have a very diverse population and many low income families. These students are incredibly amazing! They come to school ready to learn. I recently asked the students to finish this sentence, "Learning should be..." They responded with challenging, purposeful, collaborative, engaging, comfortable, and safe. These students are forward thinking and would like their classroom updated to encourage collaboration and engagement. Our school has been here for 25+ years and the furniture is still the same and much of it is in need of replacing. Our goal is to have a remodeled classroom in place in August when the new year begins.

About my class
