I am currently teaching at a low income school where many of the students do not even have computer or Internet access at home. The students are provided with textbooks that are hindering their abilities to create, imagine, and critically assess. These students have been introduced to the iPad inside and out of the school environment. They all have worked extremely hard by individually writing letters to companies and receiving little to no donations or support. They are a little discouraged, yet still have the determination to acquire this amazing technology and use it to develop their future. Even though the majority of the letters that were sent to companies asking for donations were sent back, the students had their parents physically drive to the locations to deliver the letters personally. This determination speaks volumes. These students do not have much at home and when they come to school, they should have the feelings of success and excitement. Please help!
