My classroom is a busy place. At any given moment, there might be four or five different books being read at the same time, because I tailor reading assignments to each student's level. That's a wonderful thing for learning, but it can get a little chaotic! The headphones you helped provide mean my students can dive into their audiobooks and EdPuzzle books without distracting each other — everyone gets to be in their own little reading world.\r\nThe difference has been real. Students who might have struggled to focus in a noisy room are now tuning in and actually enjoying their books. It's been so cool to look around the classroom and see every single kid engaged in their own story at the same time.\r\nAnd the copy paper — I know it sounds unglamorous, but it has been a lifesaver! Right now my students are in the middle of making zines, and watching them print out their writing and pictures and assemble everything by hand has been so fun. They are so proud of what they're creating. None of it would be possible without the basics, and you helped us cover those. I came to the classroom with a background in anthropology and a deep love of ancient civilizations, and your generosity is allowing me to share that passion with my students in a real, hands-on way. With your support, my students aren't just reading about ancient peoples — they're connecting with them through projects that bring history to life.\r\nThe paper, chalk, and fire centerpieces are helping my students recreate and engage with the art, tools, and traditions of civilizations that existed thousands of years ago. One of the most exciting parts has been watching students craft their own \"stone\" tools, which are now proudly displayed on our new classroom shelves. There is something powerful about a middle schooler holding something they made with their own hands and understanding, viscerally, what it means to be human long before the modern world existed.\r\nWhat has surprised me most this year is just how hungry my students are for this material. They are curious, they ask incredible questions, and they are genuinely excited to learn. Your donation is helping me keep feeding that curiosity and giving them experiences that I hope will stay with them long after they leave my classroom. Last year was my first year teaching middle school, and I quickly learned that so many of my students arrive without the basic supplies they need to fully participate in class. With 90 students, it's simply not possible for me to run to Target and fill the gaps the way I might have with a smaller class — your donation makes that possible in a way I never could on my own.\r\nYour contribution means my students can focus on learning instead of feeling embarrassed or left behind because they don't have what they need. This year I'm especially excited about our new homeroom structure — my class will be dedicated to embroidery, a hands-on creative skill that I know is going to capture so many of my students' imaginations. There's something special about giving middle schoolers the chance to create something tangible with their hands, and I can already picture the pride on their faces when they finish their first project.\r\nAnd the Kleenex and Clorox wipes? Those might seem small, but keeping 90 kids healthy is no small feat! A healthy classroom is a learning classroom, and your thoughtfulness in helping us stay well means more instructional time and fewer sick days for everyone. We just finished a unit on ancient Sam area and we were able to use the markers to create tablets using cuneiform to tell us a little more about them themselves.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to start creating in groups small plays explain what life was like in Egypt and ancient China and meso-America. Your contribution has made an incredible difference for our students, and we truly appreciate your kindness.\r\n\r\n1. How we are using the new resources:\r\nOur students are already using the new PE equipment during our softball unit, during fitness stations, and sport-specific skill development. One of our most meaningful moments so far has been using the equipment during our softball and fitness unit. Students who normally struggle to stay engaged were excited to rotate through stations using the new gloves, and helmets—giving them structure, confidence, and hands-on success. The tools have allowed us to build lessons that are smoother, safer, and more accessible for all students, especially those who need extra support or motivation.\r\n\r\n2. Student reactions:\r\nWhen the students first saw and heard about the new materials, the enviorment changed into a positive direction. Many of them said things like, \"Is this really for us?\" and \"Now PE is going to be fun!\" You could see genuine joy on their faces. For students who often feel discouraged or overlooked, having brand-new equipment made just for them sent a powerful message: that people care about their growth and believe they deserve high-quality opportunities. That moment alone made this project worth it.\r\n\r\n3. What's next for our classroom:\r\nOur next steps include expanding our skill-based units so every student continues building confidence, teamwork, and physical literacy. With the new equipment, we will be launching a movement-based fitness rotation where students work on agility, strength, coordination, and sport fundamentals in small groups. This will help them develop independence, improve behavior, and experience success in a structured, positive environment. The equipment you helped fund will continue to support these lessons all year long.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and belief in our students. Your support has created a lasting impact on their physical health, mental well-being, and overall confidence.
