Writer's Workshop is a beautiful way to build a love of writing that is embedded with skills that transfer between subjects and topics. As my classroom begins this journey a meeting area and comfortable seats will help create a fun space to explore Narratives, Opinion, and Informational Writing topics. After a piece is completed students share the work they have S T R E T C H E D and embellished. What a joy it is to gather together in a special space and share our growth and voice! Sensory needs are a key component to supporting students with differing needs. My class would greatly benefit from the requested items helping my students to focus and release their energy in a productive way. Each item helps build independent strategies to manage hyperactivity and frustration. These tools simultaneously help the whole class maintain a calm working environment so everyone feels safe and productive. Wiggle seats, therabands, and individual sensory items will be well used daily.
