Your generosity fostered a joy of reading and book discussion in my class, and aided in a further understanding of history and our modern world. \r\n\r\nIn my class of 20 students, we mostly read Fahrenheit 451 together as a class, though some chapters were read independently. While reading, students learned several new vocabulary words, investigated main characters and the effect they had on the novel, and made annotations, looking for quotes that were important to themes within the novel, as well as quotes that they associated with events in the real world. \r\n\r\nWhile some students did not enjoy the ending, most of my students enjoying diving into a futuristic world that was both similar and completely foreign from their own. As their teacher, I enjoyed watching the lightbulb moments when they realized something was about to happen, and when they made connections to their own life or the novel as a whole.\r\n\r\nI enjoyed teaching this novel again, after 5 years. I was able to greatly expand my lessons and activities from the last time, and I think the students got a lot out of the entire unit. Thank you again for making this all possible.
