Because of your kindness, our classroom is now equipped with resources such as timers, fidgets, charts, weighted stuffies, and breathing maps that help students learn how to self-regulate, refocus, and stay on track with their learning.\r\n\r\nSocial-emotional skills are just as important as academic ones, and your donation has helped us create a learning environment where students feel supported, understood, and empowered. The timers have become an especially helpful tool for students who need clear structure and expectations. By being able to see and manage their time, students are learning how to pace themselves, transition more smoothly between activities, and build independence.\r\n\r\nThe fidgets and weighted stuffies have also been incredibly impactful. For many students, having something tactile to hold helps calm their bodies and minds, allowing them to concentrate more fully on lessons. Instead of being a distraction, these tools have become a pathway to focus. Students are learning that it's okay to use appropriate strategies to help their bodies feel ready to learn.\r\n\r\nOur charts and breathing maps have opened the door to meaningful conversations about emotions and self-awareness. Students are beginning to recognize how they feel, name their emotions, and choose strategies that help them regulate. The breathing maps, in particular, have given students simple, effective techniques to calm themselves when they feel overwhelmed or frustrated. It has been inspiring to see students independently use these tools during challenging moments.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our classroom has become a more inclusive, calm, and responsive place. Students are not only learning math, reading, and writing—they are learning lifelong skills such as emotional regulation, problem-solving, and self-confidence. These tools are helping students understand that everyone learns differently and that taking care of our emotional well-being is an important part of success.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and for investing in their growth, both academically and emotionally. Your support has had a lasting impact on our classroom community, and we are deeply grateful for your commitment to helping students thrive. We think of you each time these tools are used, and we appreciate you more than words can fully express.","fullyFundedDate":1762266290603,"projectUrl":"project/take-a-break-and-self-regulate/9468386/","projectTitle":"Take a Break and Self-Regulate!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hewlett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9522376_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1717861867218","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9522376"},{"teacherId":3429591,"projectId":9483933,"letterContent":"We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation that allowed us to purchase a beautiful new carpet for our kindergarten classroom. As soon as they saw the beanbag board, ring toss game, and swing-and-catch cups, they were eager to get outside and start playing. The excitement on their faces was priceless, and they immediately began encouraging one another, taking turns, and working together.\r\n\r\nOne of our favorite moments was watching students rotate through activity stations using the Lakeshore Active Play Kit. They practiced teamwork, communication, and problem-solving while participating in friendly competitions. The Beanbag Board and Super-Safe Ring Toss Game helped students build hand-eye coordination and focus, while the Swing and Catch Cups encouraged persistence and confidence as they mastered new skills.\r\n\r\nThese resources have become an important part of helping our students learn and play in a positive outdoor environment. The active play opportunities give students a chance to release energy, reduce stress, and strengthen social-emotional skills through cooperative play.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our \"Learn and Play Our Worries Away\" project, students will use these materials during outdoor learning time, team-building activities, and structured play sessions.
