Teacher supplies and resources always have been scarce, but this was on a different level. Because I've confined space in my home, I got rid of a lot of my teaching materials. The district where I previously taught had high poverty levels but this charter school was even more poverty stricken. Within 2 years, I was asked to move grade levels, and ironically, I had gotten rid of nearly everything. This is where my donors come in like knights on a horse. I used the tag board to print my centers and stations material on, and I used laminating film to protect them for use year after year. My students had an entire large cup full of pencils to use everyday, for the myriad of ways we use pencils to write. No more worrying about instruction being interrupted by students asking for a pencil or saying that they didn't have one. Every time I asked them to color part of an assignment, I had plenty of them for use. Additionally, my students got to use the notebook paper we received to write stories, written responses to literature and other texts, and even draw on during cold or rainy days of indoor classroom recess. Each student has a brand new pink eraser to use, and even extra when those wear down to nubs or get lost. I have made, with donated supplies, over 25 learning centers! Moreover, my students love using individual dry erase boards to write answers to questions during instruction, answers to math problems in real time, and even during some educational games. But, they love the little square personal dry erase board erasers. We have used construction paper for craftivities that were curriculum related to proudly display in the hallway. \r\n I cannot thank you enough, donors, for contributing so generously to my classroom to help my students while simultaneously saving me from spending money out of my own pocket.","fullyFundedDate":1753881072420,"projectUrl":"project/supplies-for-success/9493665/","projectTitle":"Supplies for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Holtz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8416313"},{"teacherId":8263302,"projectId":9448501,"letterContent":"These materials have made a huge impact in our classroom.
