Because of your kindness and willingness to invest in education, my students will now have access to a learning environment that is more comfortable, engaging, and supportive of their individual needs. Your donation has made a meaningful difference, and I am truly grateful.\r\n\r\nFlexible seating is much more than simply replacing chairs. It creates opportunities for students to take ownership of their learning by choosing seating options that help them focus, collaborate, and feel successful in the classroom. Every student learns differently, and these new seating choices will allow my students to work in ways that help them feel calm, confident, and ready to learn each day.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, one of my greatest goals is to create a classroom where every child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn. Thanks to your support, I can provide a space that encourages movement, creativity, and independence. Students who may struggle to sit still in traditional desks will now have alternative options that better meet their needs, helping them stay engaged and productive throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nYour generosity also sends an important message to my students: there are people in the world who believe in them and care about their education. Many students do not always realize how many individuals are willing to support their success. Through your donation, you have shown them that their learning matters and that their community is cheering them on.\r\n\r\nI wish you could see the excitement on their faces as they begin using the new seating in our classroom. Something as simple as having a comfortable place to work can boost confidence, improve focus, and make school a more positive experience. These flexible seating options will benefit students not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my entire class, thank you for believing in us and helping make this project possible. Your kindness will have a lasting impact on our classroom for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1769332571078,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-refresh/10053323/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating Refresh","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ganster","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp175831_orig.jpg?crop=376,376,x1155,y188&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1657048989648","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sraganster"},{"teacherId":10293548,"projectId":9991232,"letterContent":"The wobble stools you provided for our classrooms have been an incredible hit. Students were so excited to come into the classroom for the big unveiling! \r\n\r\n\"Little things\" like being able to choose your most comfortable seat for the moment are huge for students who are challenged daily by attention and processing difficulties. I've seen an undeniable improvement in focus and sustained attention during work, and students are also learning self-advocacy skills in choosing and asking for their preferred seat. (I've even had students start in a wobble stool and ultimately make their own very mature decision to move back into a standard chair when the temptation to turn it into a carnival ride became too great. These are skills!!)\r\n\r\nThank you sincerely for your contribution to our classroom. I've also been able to loan out a few wobble stools to general education teachers so high-need students in their classrooms can benefit as well. These materials have made a meaningful impact in my 3rd-grade Spanish immersion classroom, where students are officially learning English Language Arts for the first time while continuing to grow as writers in Spanish. The supplies allowed my students to express their ideas through both art and writing, building confidence as bilingual authors and artists.\r\n\r\nUsing cardstock and carefully trimmed paper, students created self-portraits inspired by author-illustrator Ellen Stoll Walsh. The paper cutter made preparation and student work much easier and more precise. We also explored winter-inspired art and writing. Even though we live in a city that does not experience snow, students joyfully designed their own snowmen and then wrote instructional pieces in English explaining how to build a snowman. For another project, students used a different shades of green markers to design Christmas trees decorated with ornaments inspired by Kandinsky's concentric circles. After returning from winter break, they wrote personal narrative essays in Spanish about their winter experiences, further strengthening their bilingual writing skills across genres.\r\n\r\nI am excited to share photos of both the students' projects and all the materials you made possible. My students truly love writing in both Spanish and English, especially when they can combine it with art inspired by famous artists. Your generosity has inspired creativity, engagement, and a love for learning in our classroom. Thank you for supporting our students and helping nurture future writers and artists.","fullyFundedDate":1759415839788,"projectUrl":"project/inspiring-creativity/9673053/","projectTitle":"Inspiring Creativity","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Leon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5972978_orig.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1600726238381","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5972978"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_37895","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":666,"numTeachers":31,"percentFrplEligible":57,"percentAsian":12,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":21,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":44,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":8,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"21.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":85.4,"schoolId":37895,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Longfellow Spanish Immersion School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Longfellow Spanish Immersion School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/san-diego-unified-school-district/longfellow-spanish-emers-school/37895"}
