I am so grateful to have the Rekenreks in my classroom this year. My students are super excited about using them and they are such a great hands-on tool to support their learning.\r\nIn one of our favorite math shows they have Rekenreks in some of the episodes and before having them in class it was an abstract concept for my students. Now, they see them in the show and get excited and know what they are and how to use them to do math. It is great! The new flexible seating has made a huge difference. Students can now choose where they learn best, whether it's a cozy cushion for reading or a fun stability ball for focused work. We're using these new seats during our reading and writing time, and I've already seen how much more engaged they are. \r\n\r\nWhen the new materials arrived, my students were so excited! Their eyes lit up, especially for the mittens and the variety of snacks. The mittens were perfect for outdoor play, keeping them warm and active. The snacks help them stay energized and focused, especially during our afternoon lessons. The laminating sheets and easel pads are already helping us create lasting learning materials. The small group activity materials have brought so much teamwork to our math centers. Even the floor sweeper has become a favorite, as students love helping to keep our classroom neat.\r\n\r\nYour contributions have given our curious and resilient 1st graders the tools they need to succeed. Next, we'll be starting our \"Earth & Sky\" science project. We'll use the new easel pads to brainstorm ideas and create diagrams of the solar system and constellations. The flexible seating will continue to support their independent work and creative ideas.
