These tools have already opened up a whole new way for students to create. We are using Procreate as an introduction to digital art, and students are learning how to work with layers, build color palettes, experiment with brushes and effects, and make changes without being afraid of \"messing up\" their work. That freedom to try something, undo it, adjust it, and try again has been especially valuable.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting is seeing how quickly students have taken ownership of the technology. After learning the basics, they have been able to move into their own ideas, follow tutorials that interest them, or simply explore what Procreate can do. Some students who may be more hesitant with traditional drawing materials are much more willing to experiment digitally, while others are finding ways to combine the skills they already have with completely new tools. We are also beginning to explore Nomad Sculpt, which gives students another way to think about form, character design, and 3D creation.\r\n\r\nThis iPad and Apple Pencil are doing much more than adding another piece of technology to the classroom. They are giving students another way to be creative, build confidence, and develop skills they can continue using beyond this project. I truly appreciate your support and your willingness to invest in opportunities like this for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1787585351856,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-student-artists-through-digit/10298001/","projectTitle":"Empowering Student Artists Through Digital Illustration & 3D Sculpting","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hutchinson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10514465_orig.jpg?crop=257,257,x0,y49&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1779371547051","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10514465"},{"teacherId":10514465,"projectId":10298027,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping make this project possible for my students. We are using the new sculpture materials in both my Advanced 3D Art class and my Visual Arts Intermediate class. The materials are giving students opportunities to work in ways that go beyond drawing and painting and really think about form, texture, structure, and how an idea can change when it becomes three-dimensional.\r\n\r\nIn Advanced 3D, students are currently working on a project focused on the human experience. They began by brainstorming ideas like identity, pressure, memory, change, connection, and the unknown. From there, they developed their own concepts and are now using the face forms, papier-mâché, paper pulp, plaster, and other materials to turn those ideas into sculptures. One student is exploring pressure over time through a series of faces that become progressively more compressed, while another is working with curiosity and fear connected to space exploration.\r\n\r\nThese materials are also being used in Visual Arts Intermediate, giving those students another way to experiment with sculpture and build confidence with unfamiliar materials. Across both classes, students are problem-solving, revising, and figuring out how to make their ideas work in three dimensions. We will continue building, refining, and finishing the work over the next several weeks. I really appreciate the support that made these experiences possible for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1787585415758,"projectUrl":"project/sculpting-creativity-in-the-art-classroo/10298027/","projectTitle":"Sculpting Creativity in the Art Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hutchinson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10514465_orig.jpg?crop=257,257,x0,y49&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1779371547051","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10514465"},{"teacherId":10514465,"projectId":10295956,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting \"Designing Accessibility Through 3D Printing.\" Your generosity is helping my students learn how to design and make tools that help people with disabilities participate in art. Through our Accessible Art Lab, students begin by considering what might make an art activity difficult for someone. They sketch ideas, build designs on the computer, and use our 3D printers to turn those ideas into tools they can hold, test, and improve.\r\n\r\nSeeing a design come off the printer makes the process real for students. They can check whether a grip feels comfortable or whether a shape works the way they expected. Sometimes they discover that something needs to be larger, stronger, or easier to hold. Those discoveries give them a reason to revisit their designs. They are learning that making changes is part of the work, and that a useful tool often takes several attempts.\r\n\r\nWhat I appreciate most about this work is that students have to think beyond their own preferences. A design that works well for them may not work for the person who needs it. Along with learning the technology, they are learning to listen, ask questions, and make thoughtful decisions. Thank you for giving my students the chance to use their creativity to help someone else.Dear Exponential Scholars,\r\n\r\nThank you for supporting our students and their work in the Accessible Art Lab. The materials you helped provide have allowed me to guide students through designing, printing, and testing adaptive art tools. Students can hold their designs, see what needs to change, and try again. That experience helps them understand how their decisions affect the person using the tool and gives them a meaningful reason to keep improving their work. I appreciate your help in making these learning opportunities possible.","fullyFundedDate":1787585391700,"projectUrl":"project/designing-accessibility-through-3d-print/10295956/","projectTitle":"Designing Accessibility Through 3D Printing","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hutchinson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10514465_orig.jpg?crop=257,257,x0,y49&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1779371547051","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10514465"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_97029","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2315,"numTeachers":113,"percentFrplEligible":36,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":74,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"20.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":89.5,"schoolId":97029,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lincoln Charter School - Denver on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lincoln Charter School - Denver","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/north-carolina-department-of-education/lincoln-charter-school-denver/97029"}
