This technology has made a tremendous difference in how my students are able to learn and stay focused. In science class, students often complete independent computer-based labs, watch short instructional science videos, and answer questions based on what they have learned. The headphones allow each student to clearly hear the audio without being distracted by others around them. This has greatly improved their ability to concentrate, follow directions, and complete assignments successfully.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part of this donation for my students is that everyone can now participate equally. Before receiving these headphones, many students did not have their own pair and had to share or go without, which created barriers to learning. Now every student has access to the same tools, and no one is left out of activities that require listening and technology use. This has helped create a more inclusive and positive classroom environment where all students feel supported and prepared to learn.\r\n\r\nI have noticed that certain students have benefited in especially meaningful ways. My English Language Learner and special education students, in particular, have responded very well to using headphones. When combined with closed captions, the headphones help these students better understand videos and instructions, even when language skills are still developing. Overall, the headphones have dramatically increased student focus, attention, and engagement across the board. I am truly grateful for this donation and for the positive impact it has had on my students' learning experience.","fullyFundedDate":1744032986931,"projectUrl":"project/headphones-needed-for-quiet-focus-on-vid/9212666/","projectTitle":"Headphones Needed for Quiet Focus on Videos and Simulations","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Chris George","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8936484_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y27&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1710091265772","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8936484"},{"teacherId":8936484,"projectId":9888638,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the generous donation of new hot glue guns and boxes of glue sticks for our classroom! These supplies are already being used almost every week in both my 7th and 8th grade STEM classes. Students rely on the glue guns for a wide variety of hands-on projects, including building model bridges, creating model houses, constructing picture frames, and assembling plant and animal cell models. These activities support many important learning standards such as understanding forces on bridges, scale and proportion, criteria and constraints, live loads and dead loads, and the structural parts of buildings. One specific classroom moment that stands out was watching students proudly display the picture frames they designed and built themselves. The glue guns allowed them to turn their ideas into finished, sturdy products they were excited to take home.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, they were genuinely excited and grateful. Our previous glue guns were very old, and many of them no longer worked properly, which often caused frustration and delays during projects. Having brand new, reliable glue guns made a huge difference right away. Students were thrilled to be able to work without interruptions, and the large supply of glue sticks means that no project has to be paused because we ran out of materials. Their enthusiasm and engagement increased immediately, simply because they now had the right tools to complete their work successfully.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for my students are already underway. We have just finished creating picture frames and stands, and students are currently busy building detailed model plant cells. The glue guns are essential for attaching organelles such as the nucleus, mitochondria, and chloroplasts securely inside the cell models. In the spring, we will begin new projects focused on designing bridges and model houses, where the glue guns will again play a critical role. These upcoming lessons will continue to help students apply engineering concepts in creative and meaningful ways. Thank you again for supporting our classroom and making these engaging learning experiences possible.","fullyFundedDate":1764783669707,"projectUrl":"project/bridge-the-gap-supplies-needed-for-stem/9888638/","projectTitle":"Bridge the Gap: Supplies Needed for Stem Projects","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Chris George","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8936484_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y27&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1710091265772","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8936484"},{"teacherId":8936484,"projectId":9888484,"letterContent":"The generous donation of classroom calculators has made a meaningful difference in the learning experience of my 7th and 8th grade science students. Calculators are now used regularly in a wide variety of lessons, including calculating the density of different materials, solving scale and proportion problems, determining average temperatures for worldwide climate analysis, and analyzing other data sets that require averaging and numerical reasoning. These are important scientific skills that students need to practice frequently. Because we now have enough calculators for every student, all students are able to participate fully and confidently in these activities. As a result, classroom engagement and productivity have increased significantly.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the calculators, the donation of a paper cutter has also had a tremendous impact on daily instruction. As a teacher, I use the paper cutter every single day to prepare materials for my students. One of my main instructional goals is to have students paste important images, diagrams, and graphic organizers into their notebooks so they have strong visual supports to go along with vocabulary and scientific concepts. The paper cutter has made it possible to quickly and efficiently prepare these materials so that every student has access to them.\r\n\r\nThe availability of these visuals has been especially helpful for my English Language Learner (ELL) students, who often struggle to understand new and complex scientific terms. Having clear diagrams and images directly in their notebooks gives them valuable reference tools and greatly improves their comprehension. Thanks to this donation, my students are more organized, more engaged, and better equipped to succeed. I am extremely grateful for the support and for the positive impact it has had on my classroom and my students' learning.","fullyFundedDate":1764783669431,"projectUrl":"project/think-smart-cut-sharp-building-better/9888484/","projectTitle":"Think Smart, Cut Sharp: Building Better Scientists!”","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Chris George","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8936484_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y27&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1710091265772","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8936484"},{"teacherId":8498082,"projectId":9435486,"letterContent":"I can't thank you enough for your generous support for our classroom activity!
