The day the bean bag chairs and multisensory tools arrived, the juniors walked in, stopped, and then—very \"high school\"—tried to hide their excitement. A couple of them asked, \"Wait... we can actually use these?\" Once I said yes, the bean bags were immediately claimed and tested out.\r\n\r\nSince then, the bean bags have become the go-to spot for group work. During discussions, peer feedback sessions, and collaborative writing projects, students naturally head over there to work together. Having a flexible, more relaxed seating option has made a noticeable difference in how willing they are to participate and share ideas. It's helped create a space that feels less rigid and more inviting, especially for students who need to move around.\r\n\r\nThe stress balls and other sensory tools have also made a real impact. Some students quietly use them during writing or reading days, and it's helped them stay focused and manage the stress that comes with juggling school, activities, and everything else high schoolers are navigating.\r\n\r\nRight now, we're working on a reading The Crucible and studying character development. The bean bag \"collaboration corner\" plus the sensory tools have become an everyday part of our routine. Students use the space to brainstorm, revise, and talk through ideas, and it honestly feels like the classroom belongs to them in a new way.\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting this project. Your generosity has made our classroom more comfortable, more student-centered, and more conducive to meaningful work. It's already made a real difference for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1755710278237,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-multisensory-tools/9595119/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating & Multisensory Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Fowers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4227222_orig.jpg?crop=301,301,x429,y324&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755185633707","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsfowers"},{"teacherId":3361864,"projectId":9161681,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding filament for 3-D printed items to aid our students in understanding and acquiring skills! In my special education classroom, we have a variety of different academic levels of students and they need varied activities. We have been able to print so many helpful items for students to have manipulatives and more hands-on experiences. For example, we really needed additional bars with our fraction sets. I was able to print more so that each student can have multiple bars to be able to create and work with mixed numbers. We were able to print multiple sets of letters in a variety of colors. Students are able to use the word cards with our language arts curriculum to create words. They can manipulate a single-letter or a group or letters to create a new words. This enhances their understanding of sounds and letters. Besides being more economical, these were so much better than the store version. Each student was able to have their own bag. If one dropped on the floor, it was easy to tell which student's collection they belonged to. Yes, we love them. Thank you!\r\n\r\nThat was already a lot of items we were able to print from the filament. There was more! Your contribution really gave us a lot! We were able to print numbers in a variety of colors. The students were able to use the numbers to designate the answers in their math textbooks. They will be able to use the numbers for a variety of tasks. We were able to print trays to be able to sort objects, money, and manipulatives. We were able to make trash-cans and tokens with garbage and recyclable materials to be sorted. We were able to print incentives when students completed a goal. They could choose a figure, and then they were able to use paint markers to add extra color and details. We also printed articulated animals for prizes and as math manipulative. We were able to print a game, that involved balancing cats. As you can see, we were efficient and effective in printing a variety of needed and helpful materials and items. We really, really, really, appreciate you funding us. My students faces light up as they see me pull out a new activity. They are enthusiastic and motivated to try out the tasks. It is fun to watch them participate and learn! One of the first items we used was Fraction War. Even though they've been taught about fractions many times, they still have a difficult time understanding them and comparing them. They have loved using this game to compare different fractions and identifying equivalent fractions in a fun way. Thank you so much! \r\n\r\nMy entire class seemed to thoroughly enjoy the Real World Math with Unexpected Events. They never seem to know when to add or subtract when given a story problem. This game seemed to be easier to understand, as they had an account and were depositing and taking money out of their accounts for the different events.\r\n\r\nWe received so many great items and enough quantity for all the groups in my classroom.
