The RC vehicles immediately became a highlight of the day, not only because they were exciting and engaging, but because they gave students a chance to collaborate, problem solve, and explore technology in a hands-on way. Many of our students do not often have opportunities to interact with technology like this outside of school, so seeing their excitement, curiosity, and teamwork was incredible. Several students who are usually hesitant to participate were fully engaged, cheering each other on, sharing strategies, and taking pride in learning something new.\r\n\r\nYour generosity extended far beyond the RC vehicles themselves. The snacks you donated may seem small, but to middle school students they make a huge difference. Those treats helped create a fun, welcoming environment where students felt celebrated for the progress they made this year. We are also grateful that the leftover snacks will continue supporting our students during upcoming testing celebrations as they demonstrate the literacy growth they have worked so hard to achieve. As a teacher, providing these extras for students adds up quickly, so your kindness truly lifted a burden and allowed me to focus on celebrating and encouraging my students.\r\n\r\nMost of all, I want you to know how meaningful it was that complete strangers chose to invest in our students and community. Your support reminded our students that there are people who care about their success, their joy, and their future. Thank you for helping create memories, motivation, and excitement that our students will carry with them long after the celebration day ended.","fullyFundedDate":1775770575775,"projectUrl":"project/literacy-growth-celebration/9977517/","projectTitle":"Literacy Growth Celebration","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Timmerman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10395071_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1767349300445","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10395071"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_88278","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":417,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":65,"percentAsian":13,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":37,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":25,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":2,"percentMultiracialImputed":8,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"15.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":64.9,"schoolId":88278,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lane Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lane Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oregon/portland-public-schools/lane-middle-school/88278"}
