Thanks to your kindness, our kindergarteners now have magnetic segmenting boards to directly apply what they are learning through our UFLI (University of Florida Literacy Initiative) foundations curriculum.\r\n​Phonemic awareness and phonics are the essential building blocks of early literacy, and these magnetic segmenting boards have made our reading instruction truly hands-on. Kindergarteners learn best when they can touch, move, and visualize concepts. Using these boards, my students physically drag magnetic tiles or letters to tap out individual sounds, isolate phonemes, and blend them into words. Connecting these tactile boards to our UFLI lessons has made abstract reading concepts concrete and accessible for every child.\r\n​The impact on their confidence and skill growth has been amazing to watch. Seeing a student's face light up when they successfully segment and read a brand-new word on their magnetic board is priceless.
