Because of your kindness, my students have been able to engage with new resources that have truly brought our learning to life. We recently used these materials during a hands-on project where students worked collaboratively to explore and create, and it was incredible to see their creativity and confidence grow. One memorable moment was watching students eagerly share their ideas and proudly present their workâsomething that wouldn't have been possible without your contribution.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their excitement was immediate and contagious. Their eyes lit up, and they couldn't wait to dive in and start using everything. It created a renewed sense of motivation and curiosity in the classroom, turning everyday lessons into meaningful, interactive experiences. Many of them expressed how special it made them feel to know that people they've never met care about their education.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, these resources will continue to play a key role in our learning. Our next steps include building on this project by encouraging deeper exploration, critical thinking, and student-led activities that allow them to take ownership of their learning. Your support has opened doors for richer instruction and more engaging opportunities, and we are so grateful. Since receiving these materials, my genies have been using them daily during our science stations to help them become comfortable at redoing a design when the first attempt doesn't work. The new resources have allowed my students to move beyond simply reading about scientific concepts and instead experience them through exploration, building, testing, and redesigning. They are learning how to think like engineers while strengthening important skills such as teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and perseverance.\r\n My students were extremely happy to start working with our new materials. Some of them stated they had previously saw the STEM kits at a science workshop they attended after our science fair. I've had one student try to combine 2 of the STEM kits to make a larger model of the airplane. \r\n The next steps for our classroom include completing our PBL based on how to store safe rain water for our new school garden. The will use have been able to transfer those skills to build different models of rain storage containers and find ways to keep harmful microorganisms out of the water. I'm also requiring my students to use their model to keep track of which model from the class has the least amount of bacterial and harmful microorganisms.","fullyFundedDate":1767881575743,"projectUrl":"project/activating-design-and-engineering/9974410/","projectTitle":"Activating Design and Engineering","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jackson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3701529_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1469649030043","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-jackson2016"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_108352","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":305,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":92,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":60.3,"schoolId":108352,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Kindezi School Old Fourth Ward on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Kindezi School Old Fourth Ward","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/atlanta-public-schools/kindezi-school-at-old-fourth-ward-opens-aug-2015/108352"}
