Many of them had never planted anything before, so watching them explore the tools, touch the soil, and gently transfer the seedlings into their pots was a truly joyful moment. Your generosity turned our classroom into a hands-on science lab and sparked curiosity in every student.\r\n\r\nWe are currently growing Akiohala, a native Hawaiian hibiscus. Students began with small sprouts and have been caring for them each day. Each week, students measure their plants' growth and record data in their science journals, noting weather patterns, sunlight exposure, and the presence of any pests. This project has helped them build real-world science skills like observation, data collection, and responsibility.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue nurturing the plants until they are strong enough to be taken home and planted in students' yards.
