Over 75 Cal Poly Pomona volunteers used the materials to complete mural projects, freshen up garden spaces, and beautify our school grounds. In our classroom, we've used the murals as a launchpad for a community art and writing project where students reflect on what each mural means to them and how it represents the spirit of our school. One special moment was when a student said, \"It feels like our school is giving us a hug now!\" The murals have sparked conversations about creativity, teamwork, and pride, all of which have carried into our classroom culture.\r\n\r\nWhen students first arrived and saw the murals and new garden spaces, their faces lit up with amazement. They ran from mural to mural, pointing out the bright colors and the details, feeling a deep sense of excitement and connection to their school. Moving forward, our class is building on that momentum through a project where students are designing their own small mural concepts to share messages of kindness, inclusion, and perseverance. We plan to display their artwork in our classroom and hallways, helping students see that their voices and visions can shape their environment just like the murals on our campus. Your donations didn't just buy paint — they helped spark a sense of belonging and inspiration that continues to grow every day.","fullyFundedDate":1736961655583,"projectUrl":"project/kpes-beautification-day/9054327/","projectTitle":"KPES Beautification Day","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Samaniego","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9489523_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y339&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1710003714080","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/artclub"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_84454","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":368,"numTeachers":17,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":86,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"21.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":84454,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Kellogg Polytechnic Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Kellogg Polytechnic Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/pomona-unified-school-district/kellogg-polytechnic-elementary-school/84454"}
