My students are a wonderful group of kids who inspire me everyday with their bright smiles and positive attitudes for learning. Unfortunately, some of them are reading below grade level, and because of this, struggle to access curriculum. As their teacher, I need to help them close the reading gap by increasing their literacy skills. To do this, I would like to provide them with a wide variety of reading materials that will inspire in them a love for reading. Reading books will support my students with their learning goals by exposing them to new vocabulary and helping them increase their reading fluency. In addition, exposure to new reading material will support my students in learning about the world around them. I would like to purchase high interest books for my classroom in a variety of genres. These books will serve to help close the achievement gap and put a smile on some lucky kids.
