My students are thrilled to use the iPad to access our curriculum. While many people use iPads for entertainment, in our room, they have become essential creative workstations. Currently, Google Docs and Google Slides are the favorites. My students use Docs daily for their essay writing; having tools like spell check and word count right at their fingertips builds their confidence as writers. They are especially excited by Google Slides, which allows them to show their mastery of a subject through visuals and design when a traditional essay isn't the best fit.\r\n\r\nI've noticed this technology has been a game-changer for my reluctant writers. Students who used to struggle with a blank paper are now \"warming up\" to writing because the iPad makes it easy to organize their thoughts and edit on the fly. It has truly leveled the playing field for them. The Apple Pencil is also well perceived by one of my students who is extremely artistic and creative. The iPad and Apple Pencil combination allows him to draw sketches using the app Sketchbook. This student is truly enjoying the Apple Pencil since all of the art work he has done in the past have been on a computer using a mouse. The use of the iPad and Apple Pencil has become one of the things he looks forward to in class.","fullyFundedDate":1771783254390,"projectUrl":"project/technology-assistance-for-diverse-learne/10111322/","projectTitle":"Technology Assistance For Diverse Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Tsang","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10438988"},{"teacherId":10299092,"projectId":9787931,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity! The new Pete the Cat books have been especially exciting—they enjoy having their own copies to explore independently, which has encouraged more self-directed reading and engagement with stories. In addition, the sensory books have quickly become a favorite. Students are spending more time flipping through the pages, showing increased curiosity and willingness to interact with different textures. They are especially drawn to the sensory mats, eagerly touching and exploring them, which supports their tactile development. I've also noticed them becoming more attentive to auditory input, as they listen for and respond to different animal sounds throughout the day.\r\n\r\nThe mini trampoline has also been a valuable addition to our classroom. It provides students with a safe and structured way to release energy while also meeting their sensory needs. Incorporating short movement breaks on the trampoline has helped students regulate their bodies, leading to improved focus and greater productivity during learning activities.","fullyFundedDate":1767222595926,"projectUrl":"project/sense-sational-learning/9787565/","projectTitle":"Sense-sational Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kristel Ingram","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9377093"},{"teacherId":8840932,"projectId":9711508,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom. Your donations have made a meaningful difference for my newcomer students. \r\n\r\nThe supplies we've attained thanks to your support have already been put to great use. The jumbo magnetic coordinate plane boards have become so helpful for students learning about functions. Students can work in small groups on the graph instead of working individually on paper. \r\n\r\nThe games from this project help to foster a sense of belonging in our classroom. Students enjoy bonding with their classmates through play. The fidgets toys help students stay calm and regulate their focus so they can be more productive in class. The water and snacks keep the students hydrated and full so they're not as distracted. The students were very happy to receive the new products for the class room. They were happy to have access to water and snacks and were excited to be able to graph on the large coordinate plane. \r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are going to continue to use these materials to continue to help students as they learn how to graph different functions and analyze changes in functions together in small groups. Since they will be working together they will not onnly be able to strengthen their mathematical skills but also continue to build their knowledge of the English language by explaining their reasoning with to the classmates in their groups. The interactive tools will help students to collaborate in ways that make math more accessible and meaningful to them. \r\n\r\nThank you for your support in helping create a classroom where students are equiped, engaged and reading to learn. When they saw the rakes arrive, their reaction was priceless — \"Oh my goodness, now we have extra rakes!\" It may seem like a small thing, but having enough tools for everyone has made a tremendous difference.\r\n\r\nWe are currently working on a large composting project, and there are always leaves to gather. We use those leaves to layer over bags of shredded paper for mulching, so raking is an essential part of our process. Instead of raking being a grueling task for just two or three students, it has become a fun, team effort with ten students working together at once.\r\n\r\nThe T-shirts have also created a sense of pride and unity.
