Theatre scenic design is the main vehicle for distance learning this year. We normally are in a scene shop building scenery, and learning the principals of design while building. Now, with online learning, I have to change the practices to a format that is new and unusual for the students. To do this my students need some basic supplies: a sketch book, and a pencil sharpener, to keep those pencils on point. My students will be exploring the world around them through a series of small assignments, to create 2D pictures for the stage.
