• Making Sustainability Accessible

My students are observant, hands-on learners who thrive when they can build, create, and collaborate. • Fun in the Sun - Screen!

  On behalf of our students, I want to sincerely thank you for your generous donation of cap covers and easy-to-apply sunscreen. Your support means more than you know.

  Protecting our students from the sun is so important, especially since many of them don't realize how necessary sunscreen is. The cap covers and accessible sunscreen make it simple for them to stay safe while learning and working outdoors. It's one less thing for them to worry about and helps us teach them to take care of their health.

• Hidden Gems!

  Thank you so much for supporting our students with the resources to create their own strawberry-based gummies using organic fruit powder and jello. Your generous contribution is helping us bring this unique project to life, where students are gaining real-world experience in sustainable agriculture, value-added food production, and entrepreneurship. From tending strawberry plants with care to transforming the fruit into beautiful kohakutou crystal gummies, our students are learning how innovation and tradition can work hand in hand.

  This project has sparked so much joy, creativity, and pride in our students. They're not only developing skills in farming, branding, and business—but also connecting with their emotions and cultural stories through the process. The crystal gummies, with their fragile yet beautiful form, have come to symbolize resilience and self-expression. • Lettuce Share!

  Thank you so much for your generous support in providing biodegradable clamshells for our garden program.

  These containers have made a big difference in how we distribute our freshly harvested lettuce. Not only do they protect the produce and keep it fresh, but they also give it a clean, professional look that our students are proud to share. The packaging adds a special touch—turning our garden harvest into something that feels valuable and gift-worthy.

  Most importantly, the clamshells are biodegradable, which aligns perfectly with our mission to teach sustainability and reduce waste. Being able to share food in eco-friendly packaging sends a strong message to our students and our community about the importance of making thoughtful, earth-conscious choices.

• Value-Added Products for Entrepreneurship Projects

  Your contribution empowers our students to engage in hands-on projects that transform waste into valuable resources while fostering innovation, environmental stewardship, and problem-solving skills.

  With the ability to repurpose shredded paper into firebricks for eco-friendly barbecuing and composting bedding, students are learning firsthand how to creatively upcycle waste and reduce landfill contributions. Additionally, the materials you have helped provide—such as foil pans for bioremediation "Genki Balls" and vermicast drying, as well as ingredients for our value-added strawberry gummy project—are essential in teaching students about soil restoration, sustainable agriculture, and the economic potential of local food production.

  Your support directly impacts our island community by equipping students with the knowledge and skills to address environmental challenges, restore polluted areas, and create sustainable food systems. Most importantly, it inspires them to become changemakers who see the interconnectedness of waste management, soil health, and agriculture.

• Fit for the Future: Empowering Youth Through Fitness

  Funded Nov 1, 2024

  I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your support and generosity in providing fitness equipment to our school. The addition of treadmills and other fitness machines has made a profound difference in our students' well-being and daily school experience.

  Our students have embraced the opportunity to use the treadmills during moments when they feel "antsy" or restless. Being able to take a short break and release stress by running or walking has proven to be an incredibly effective way to refocus their energy and return to class more calm and attentive. The accessibility of these machines as a tool for self-regulation has been tremendously helpful, not only for stress relief but also in promoting a healthy and positive outlet for emotions.

  Additionally, while we have not yet had the chance to play badminton, the excitement and anticipation among the students are palpable. Just knowing that this activity is an option has already brought a sense of joy and alleviated some of the pressures of their day. Your contribution has inspired enthusiasm and curiosity, and we are eager to explore the many ways these resources can enhance our fitness program.”
