Since receiving the Sony Alpha 6400 and Movo microphone system, the shift in our \"outdoor lab\" has been incredible. While our iphones used to fail us in the wind and salt spray, this professional gear allows students to document their restoration work with breathtaking clarity. They are now mastering the \"technical eye,\" capturing high-definition cinematography of our mountain-to-sea water systems and recording the oral histories of our community elders with crisp, clear audio. Having this equipment has validated their hard work, giving them a sense of pride and professional responsibility that has elevated their entire approach to conservation.\r\n\r\nWe are already seeing this technology empower our most quiet learners, many of whom have stepped up as lead media technicians. Students who previously struggled with traditional writing are now \"writing\" powerful visual stories, using their new skills to bridge Hawaiian history with modern science.
