Every day I got a new box of books out and started combining the different packs by phonics pattern to match our reading curriculum. The reading group that I do interventions with was super curious about which set we would read first.\r\nWe started with the short vowels and everyday the group got a new book. They loved the colored pictures from the bigger series, but enjoyed the games of the smaller set. We are finishing up with some final blends that we never got to teach in the regular curriculum. All the organizational folders and pockets really helped put it together. \r\nThe second most exciting part was the laser pointer. The class practices high frequency words and I put them on the wall, but sometimes I wonder if they ever look at them again once they are posted. But the laser pointer game is great for finding them and spelling them. I have the class line up in two lines and each student at the front of the lines searches for the word I said, like \"know\" or I spy a word that starts with \"'w\" and rhymes with ent,\" or find me a verb with a long vowel. It's exciting and the students encourage each other. Plus, they have practice spelling and alphabetizing. \r\nThank you so much!","fullyFundedDate":1770170651839,"projectUrl":"project/wonderful-decodable-readers-for-first-gr/10014942/","projectTitle":"Wonderful Decodable Readers for First Graders","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Devlin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6827430_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1570770807190","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6827430"},{"teacherId":4030207,"projectId":10010579,"letterContent":"Thank you for providing teachers with the opportunity to choose materials that directly impact our students. Because of your contributions, my students are directly benefiting from more intentional, high-level instruction designed to meet their individual needs. As part of this process, my students are actively participating in both whole-class and small-group learning experiences that are recorded and analyzed to strengthen my teaching practice. In small groups, I am able to provide targeted math instruction, supporting students as they build confidence and deepen their understanding of key concepts. One powerful moment was watching students engage in problem-solving together, explaining their thinking and supporting one another's learning.\r\n\r\nWhen students first realized they would be part of recorded lessons, they were excited and ready to participate. They took pride in showcasing their learning and were eager to contribute thoughtfully, knowing their work was part of something meaningful. During whole-class lessons, especially in social studies, students have engaged in rich academic discourse—sharing perspectives, asking questions, and building on each other's ideas. We have also focused on strengthening both expository and narrative writing, giving students opportunities to express their thinking clearly and creatively.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue to refine instruction and support student achievement. Small-group instruction will remain a key part of supporting math growth, while whole-class discussions will deepen understanding in social studies and beyond. Students will also continue developing their writing skills across subjects. Your support is not only helping me grow as an educator through the National Board process, but it is also providing my students with richer, more engaging learning opportunities every day. Thank you for being an essential part of this journey.","fullyFundedDate":1766786329556,"projectUrl":"project/national-board-certificate/9941882/","projectTitle":"National Board Certificate","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Conley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9349254_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1766027420567","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9349254"},{"teacherId":9630050,"projectId":9398966,"letterContent":"I want to extend my deepest gratitude for you generous donations that made this Sensory Regulation Hallway possible. Because of your support, this project has already made a meaningful difference in the lives of several students.\r\n\r\nThe Sensory Regulation Hallway has quickly become an important part of our school environment with helping students develop strategies to calm their bodies, improve their focus, and prepare for learning. I recently attended an IEP meeting where this hallway was discussed at length with a student's parents and teachers. Both the Resource and the General Education teacher shared plans to incorporate the Sensory Regulation Hallway into their daily routines to help the student maintain attention and regulation throughout the school day. This collaborative effort, to provide these supports to students, would not have been possible without the tools and resources your donations provided. \r\n\r\nYour kindness has truly created a lasting impact, not only supporting occupational therapy goals but also fostering a more inclusive and supportive school environment for all students.
