They earn money weekly just like adult in real life do and save up just like they do too. They have class jobs such as restroom monitors, technology, door greeter, phone greeter, lights and more. If they go above and beyond and are behaving exemplary then they may get a couple more dollars to add to their wallets!\r\nWhen my student first saw the materials that were donated they were ecstatic! They saw toys that they probably don't get the chance to buy when they go to the store with their parents. This also motivated them to always behave their best and make good choices so they can earn more apart from their daily earnings.\r\nMy next steps are to keep letting them earn money and getting more and more excited with them every time they earn money. This will keep their motivation up so they come to class with the excitement that fridays are paydays and that they will be able to buy stuff with their money.","fullyFundedDate":1755522437676,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-economy/9428536/","projectTitle":"Classroom Economy","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Aguayo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10062024"},{"teacherId":8963168,"projectId":8131532,"letterContent":"From the bottom of my heart—thank you. Your generosity through Por el amor de Libros has made a lasting impact on our dual language classroom. Watching them reach for these books with joy and pride has been one of the most beautiful parts of our year.\r\n\r\nBefore, we had very limited options in Spanish, and students often felt disconnected from the texts available to them. Now, our shelves are filled with stories that they can not only read but relate to. Este libro se parece a mi familia.\" That simple moment said it all—representation matters.\r\n\r\nThese stories have sparked deep conversations, inspired creative writing, and built a stronger classroom community. That's the vision behind *The Comfortable Learning Department*. I want to create a space that feels more like a welcoming, calm home than a traditional classroom. With flexible seating options like soft floor cushions, wobble stools, and cozy corners, students can choose where and how they learn best.\r\n\r\nSince introducing flexible seating last year, I've seen a huge shift—not just in engagement, but in confidence and collaboration. My students move with purpose, share with more ease, and settle into learning more quickly. One student told me, \"This is the first classroom where I feel like I can be myself and still focus.\" That kind of feedback is priceless and affirms what I've always believed: when kids feel comfortable, they're more open to learning, taking risks, and growing.\r\n\r\nYour support means more than just new chairs or cushions—it means helping kids feel like they belong. Every donation brings us closer to a classroom that reflects our students' needs, energy, and creativity. Thank you for believing in the power of comfort, choice, and compassion in learning.
