Flexible seating allows students to take their learning into their own hands. They are encouraged to sit in a spot where they can do their best learning and make the choices that work best for them. I introduced flexible seating in my classroom this past year. We had one downfall, organizing our materials. This would allow us to make our supplies organized and available for our flexible learning environment. In first grade we have a lot of supplies: folders, spirals, pencils, crayons, scissors, etc. Keeping up with everything can be quite a challenge. This organization shelf would be the one tool that will take our flexible seating classroom to the next level!
