The students get to create stories by looking at the pictures. It's fun to listen to the different stories they come up. Then following the picture walks they begin reading the stories. Your donation truly touched my heart and the hearts of our students. It provided the students with the tools needed in order to read and compete. It made a tremendous impact on the Reading Bowl program at our school. The students read the vibrant up to date books with so much enthusiasm. You can see their eyes light up when they open the books with the words jumping off the page. Once the students have finished reading they are able to communicate with their classmates and express the theme of the story. Students are actively engaged in reading and answering thought provoking questions about what they read. \r\n When we add the buzzers to the mix it comes alive for the students. It's a joy to watch them get excited. The laughter is so contagious. The students are eager to be the first one to press the buzzer so they can answer the questions before their classmates. Books and buzzers have helped our students to be excited about reading. It has helped our students to increase their reading, communication, and social skills. The construction paper was used with enthusiasm, as well. Plus we have a little extra to go towards our next project.
