We have been participating in novel studies and been improving our comprehension and vocabulary along the way. Many of them have been earning A.R. We are studying Jazz as a part of our enrichment classes. Student come in the room and are prompted to change their shoes in a very structured fashion. We put on our shoes and then we begin class. At the end of each class we disinfect the shoes with a Lysol spray so the next class can use them too. \r\n My students were so curious and excited about the Jazz shoes. They have Ballet slippers and they look very similar, but are so excited to see different dance shoes. They asked \"Can we please try the Jazz shoes. Please, Please!\" \r\n This semester we are still focusing on Ballet, but after the winter holiday it will be all Jazz until school is out in May. We will be doing a huge performance in May with 370 students and they will be dancing Jazz. They will all have had the privilege of using the shoes and knowing exactly how to pointe their toes! My third through fifth grade art students have benefitted greatly from it's usage. I am more able to demonstrate and model directions or tips on any given lesson. With children attention spans seemingly decreasing with time, the more I can demonstrate with visualization, the more successful and on-task they will, and have, become. The mobility functionality of the camera is an added bonus.
