The Folder Game Libraries, decodable books, and pre-writing materials have become an essential part of our daily intervention routine. One of my favorite moments this year was watching a group of first graders light up as they used the phonological awareness games for the first time. They proudly explained to each other how to \"tap out\" sounds and blend them together, skills that many of them struggled with in the fall. These resources transformed what once felt intimidating into something fun and attainable.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students asked, \"Can we play these every day?\" and eagerly gathered around to explore each new activity. My kindergarten intervention group especially loves the Basic Pattern Stencils and they treat them like treasures! It has been amazing to see how quickly they have improved their fine motor control and confidence with early writing tasks.\r\n\r\nThese resources have allowed us to take meaningful next steps in our Science of Reading-aligned instruction. As students master phonological and phonemic awareness through the folder games, we're transitioning them into more complex decoding using the decodable books you helped fund. With each small win—reading a sentence independently, matching a sound correctly, or writing a clear pattern—students are building momentum. Your support has directly impacted their growth, joy, and belief that they can become strong readers. Thank you for investing in their success and giving them tools that will benefit them for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1670591586275,"projectUrl":"project/building-foundational-skills-focus-on-p/7025549/","projectTitle":"Building Foundational Skills: Focus on Phonological and Phonemic Awareness","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jennings","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2593832_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1454101109723","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2593832"},{"teacherId":9714108,"projectId":8985014,"letterContent":"On behalf of the entire Perry Street Prep community, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude for your generous contribution to our Operation Cozy Project. Thanks to your support, we were able to provide over 100 students with fleece blankets, warm coats, hats, gloves, and scarves, ensuring they were well-prepared for the challenging winter months.\r\n\r\nOur students demonstrate a remarkable commitment to their education, actively engaging in both academic and extracurricular activities that foster their growth as scholars and community leaders. However, many of our students face the added challenge of traveling nearly an hour each day to reach school, often in difficult weather conditions. Over the past few months, the extreme winter temperatures have exacerbated the reality that many of these students lack the proper winter attire to stay warm and safe during their commute.\r\n\r\nThe outpouring of support from our community has been instrumental in providing these students with the essential gear they need to remain healthy, engaged, and focused on their education. We are profoundly appreciative of your involvement in this critical initiative.\r\n\r\nFor many of our students, these winter essentials are not simply a matter of comfort but of necessity. With your contribution, we were able to ensure they can attend school regularly, remain healthy, and continue their educational pursuits without the added worry of inadequate clothing. Furthermore, your generosity offers relief to families who may face financial constraints in securing these essential items.\r\n\r\nWe are deeply grateful for any form of support, whether through financial donations or by helping to spread awareness of this initiative to others who may wish to assist.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your kindness, generosity, and dedication to the well-being and success of our students.
