The best way to improve reading is for students to read books independently and at their reading level. Right now my classroom, and my school, do not have enough books to match each student's level. This means that students are forced to reread books many times or to read books that are either too easy or too hard for them. This will not improve their reading. These leveled books will help build my classroom library so students can have lots of choices when picking the books they want to read independently. They love reading, they just need the resources to do it!
