You have made 52 children (and their teacher) very happy! \r\n\r\nThanks to your donation, my students learned how to weave on cardboard looms for our project, \"America, a Weaving.\" They ask to work on their weaving every spare second they get, including at recess! We create a lot of artwork in my classroom, but this particular project had a huge impact on my students. As they learned how to weave, a couple of my high achieving students were brought to tears of frustration that they couldn't speed through the assignment like they are used to in reading and math. This project truly taught them all things are hard before they are easy. One of my most treasured memories from my teaching career will be when my fastest finisher for whom everything in school comes so easy, could not get the hang of weaving. A classmate who struggles to finish every reading and math assignment, who was confident with weaving said, \"I'll help you,\" and taught him how to weave. I will never forget this moment for its lesson that every child has gifts and talents and will succeed if we provide them with the opportunity to shine.","fullyFundedDate":1711558366945,"projectUrl":"project/america-a-weaving/8275705/","projectTitle":"America, a Weaving","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hagen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6141822_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750814866700","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6141822"},{"teacherId":6141822,"projectId":9427439,"letterContent":"Starting an art program from scratch was a little intimidating! These texts have helped us introduce important reading skills like identifying the main idea, making inferences, understanding character traits, and using context clues to figure out unfamiliar words. We've also used these books to spark discussions about themes such as friendship, perseverance, and kindness. The variety of genres—fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and graphic novels—has given students the opportunity to explore new topics and develop a love for reading in ways that connect to their interests.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom now looks like students gathered in small groups, reading independently, or listening to a story during read-aloud time. There's a buzz of excitement when it's time to choose a new book or share a favorite part with a partner. One student, who was previously reluctant to read, now eagerly reaches for graphic novels and has started writing his own comic strips inspired by what he's read. Another student, who is an English language learner, has found confidence in reading aloud with leveled nonfiction books that support her vocabulary growth. These books have truly transformed our reading time into one of the most joyful and meaningful parts of our day.","fullyFundedDate":1746666367102,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-cozy-reading-club-experience/9294231/","projectTitle":"Creating a Cozy Reading Club Experience","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ionel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3802143_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1472168552448","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3802143"},{"teacherId":8140164,"projectId":6457330,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of the headphones to our classroom!
