Our school's family math night is an annual treasured event that brings our community together to have fun, engage in new learning and help create memories. Students still talk about the projects and games they made and played. It helps build a collective background knowledge that teachers reactivate and students use to apply to their learning. \r\n\r\nThe 2025-2026 Family Math Night was all about finding the joy in many of the math concepts we as adults take for granted. A foundational math principle for developing fluency is that students need substantial and enjoyable practice. Our math night directly serves that basic rule. Students practiced the addition facts that make 10 using art. They studied their multiplication facts by playing fun games with their friends, older siblings and loving adults. They fortified their geometry vocabulary by building figures with clay, paper and magnets.
