This project has made an immediate and meaningful impact on my students' learning.\r\n\r\nMany of our donors use technology at home, but might not see how essential it has become in today's classrooms. These headphones allow my students to fully engage in programs like i-Ready, online read-alouds, phonics activities, and math practice without distractions. For students who are working below grade level, the ability to clearly hear directions, stories, and modeled strategies is especially important. The headphones help them stay focused, build independence, and receive the personalized instruction they need to grow.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students is the sense of ownership and confidence the headphones give them. They love having their own set for lessons, games, and assessments. Many students have mentioned how \"clear\" and \"easy to understand\" their learning programs are now. Even reluctant learners are more eager to participate because they can concentrate and follow along without background noise.\r\n\r\nSome students in particular have especially benefited. A few who struggled to stay on task during online lessons are now fully engaged and completing activities with pride. One student who is working two grade levels below has shown noticeable improvement in comprehension during his i-Ready lessons because he can finally hear every part of the instruction. Another student who is easily overwhelmed by classroom noise now feels calmer and more confident during independent work.\r\n\r\nYour donation has truly helped create a more supportive and effective learning environment. Thank you for believing in my students and giving them tools that make learning more accessible, enjoyable, and successful.","fullyFundedDate":1742660729939,"projectUrl":"project/headphones-for-all/9170103/","projectTitle":"Headphones for All!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ramos","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8845272_orig.jpg?crop=1536,1536,x0,y256&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741923348666","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8845272"},{"teacherId":8065376,"projectId":9083157,"letterContent":"On behalf of my students, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous funding of our new P.E. equipment. Every week, the excitement in the air is unmistakable as the students eagerly anticipate their physical education time. Having access to fresh, high-quality equipment has made their activities more engaging and dynamic, and it's been such a joy to watch them try new games, develop skills, and move with confidence. Many students tell me that P.E. has quickly become their favorite part of the week, and they head back to class afterward feeling more energized, focused, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nBeyond just physical fitness, this gift has had a beautiful ripple effect on our classroom community. The teamwork, sportsmanship, and encouragement that naturally grow during our P.E. sessions have strengthened their friendships and taught them the value of working together. Students who might not have interacted much before are now cheering one another on, celebrating successes, and even resolving small disagreements with kindness. Your contribution has not only brought joy to their days, it has helped them build skills that will last far beyond the playground. We are truly grateful for the positive impact you have made on our school community.","fullyFundedDate":1746786451443,"projectUrl":"project/moving-bodies-to-moving-minds/9083157/","projectTitle":"Moving Bodies to Moving Minds!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Silva","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8065376_orig.jpg?crop=1171,1171,x3,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753890256368","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8065376"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_7439","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":662,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":92,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"1 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.2,"schoolId":7439,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hooper Avenue Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hooper Avenue Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/los-angeles-unified-school-district/hooper-avenue-elementary-school/7439"}
