When my students first saw the materials, they were so excited to see pictures they drew into \"real\" stickers. We are currently using these resources to bridge the gap between creative art and literacy. For example, during our letter-recognition units, students are tasked with identifying pictures/words that start with a certain letter. They use the sticker maker to transform their illustration into a physical reward. This process is helping them master essential fine motor skills and dexterity as they carefully feed their paper through the machine and peel the backings, which is an important skill to learn the tri-grip in holding a pencil correctly. \r\n\r\nThrough your generosity, I have also been able to shift my teaching from a traditional reward system to one rooted in student ownership and pride. My students have become active creators who can create stickers as a reward. So far, students have most often used the snacks during counseling sessions, and the SEL tools have been available for use when a student needs them. One moment that stood out was during a small-group counseling meeting when students quietly shared and used the calming tools while we talked through strategies — the snacks helped create a relaxed, welcoming space.\r\n\r\nNext steps are to continue offering the SEL tools on an as‑needed basis, to incorporate them into future counseling sessions, and to track which items students choose so we can replenish what's most helpful. The composting bin is also a lifesaver in helping our school to compost our own soil with old ti leaves The photos attached photos are of the students working in our Native Hawaiian Garden.
