My goal is for kids to WANT to come to school everyday. I want my classroom to be a safe environment where students discover that learning is fun! This is my first year of teaching and I was disappointed to walk into the classroom and see that all the furniture and equipment were old, junky, and dusty. Books and resources dated back ten years! Needless to say, my classroom is definitely in need of these new materials. A circle time carpet will be a nice clean space for students to come together to learn, participate, and socialize with each other. It will also be a nice spot for them to read comfortably or meet together in small groups. A vacuum will help me keep the classroom clean despite its age! Donut exercise balls will provide students with flexible seating to help them not only to focus but also to just enjoy learning. New books and reading supports (finger highlighters and whisper phones) will support their efforts in reading and show them that it can be so much fun. Ultimately, these materials will help me create a safe and fun learning environment that students will love coming back to everyday! With your help and support, my students will have an amazing year of learning.
