Many of my students struggle with overstimulation from traditional screens, but the Tonies Box provides technology in a calm, sensory-friendly format that encourages listening, communication, and independent exploration. Students practice important skills such as following directions, improving attention span, building vocabulary, and strengthening comprehension while enjoying stories and songs they genuinely love. The predictable routines and auditory learning opportunities help create a classroom environment where students feel successful and confident.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most about the Tonies Box is the independence it gives them. They can choose a character, place it on the box themselves, and immediately access stories or music without needing complicated buttons or reading skills. This sense of control is incredibly meaningful for many of our learners. The character figures are also highly motivating and comforting, especially for students who connect deeply with favorite movies, songs, or routines. Because the Tonies Box is interactive and tactile, it keeps students engaged far longer than many traditional learning activities. It has quickly become a favorite reward, calming tool, and literacy activity all in one.\r\n\r\nWatching students who sometimes struggle to connect with classroom activities become excited, focused, and joyful through this technology has been incredibly rewarding.","fullyFundedDate":1760693576366,"projectUrl":"project/tonies-box-for-terrific-tiny-friends/9747312/","projectTitle":"Tonie's Box for Terrific Tiny Friends!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Slater","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4654833_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1504543314841","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4654833"},{"teacherId":4654833,"projectId":7147019,"letterContent":"Our classroom has been transformed by these new resources, and I cannot thank you enough for your generosity. Since receiving the materials, my students have been more engaged, collaborative, and excited to learn each day. We recently used the new supplies during a hands-on classroom project where students worked together to research, create, and present their ideas in small groups. Watching them confidently use the materials to explore concepts and share their creativity was such a rewarding moment. The resources helped make learning feel more interactive and meaningful for every student.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, these resources will play an important role in upcoming lessons and projects. Students will keep using them to strengthen critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills through hands-on activities and creative exploration. Your support has not only provided materials for our classroom, but it has also encouraged my students to dream bigger, stay curious, and take pride in their learning. The dry erase markers and dry erase pocket sleeves have been invaluable for student group work. Our new-to-the-country students use 5×7 index cards to keep track of math vocabulary in English, Thai, and Lao, which has been especially helpful for their learning.\r\nI especially appreciate the magnetic unit circle whiteboard. It has made it easier for students to present their thinking more often and more clearly. Our communication around the topic became more consistent and repeatable. While we can't attribute our success entirely to the magnetic whiteboard, many students developed a strong understanding of the unit circle and special angles.\r\nI'm also looking forward to using the button maker to create prizes for our New Year math contest. We'll be using the roll of paper when we begin periodic functions, giving students a hands-on introduction to the topic.\r\nI've shared news of the donations with our students, and they are amazed by your generosity.
