While some items were replaced due to availability, the resources we received have been seamlessly integrated into our classroom to create a more organized and modern learning environment.\r\nThe heart of our Lunar New Year celebration was truly special. We installed the West Ocean Smart Digital WiFi Wall Clock on the very morning of the Lunar New Year, using it to count down and celebrate the start of the holiday together. This visual aid helped students feel the excitement of the \"new year\" in real-time.\r\nOn that day, we engaged in a special curriculum provided by Panda Express. We distributed the Fortune Cookies, and it was heartwarming to see students carefully opening them, reading their messages aloud, and interpreting the meanings together as a class. We also watched educational videos to explore the differences between the Lunar and Solar calendars and learned about the significance of each student's Zodiac animal. The Epson scanner has been a game-changer, allowing us to digitize their reflections and \"Compassion Fortunes\" so they can be shared as a digital portfolio. While my students often use technology for entertainment, your gift has shown them how it can be a tool for focus. We haven't had our first session with the new yoga mats yet, but the students are incredibly excited and are looking forward to using them for our upcoming wellness activities. It has been moving to see students—who previously struggled with emotional regulation—already taking the lead in using our new colored paper and stress balls to create \"Aloha Self-Care Kits\" for their peers.\r\n\r\nYour investment has given my students more than just materials; you have given them lifelong skills of empathy and self-awareness. We are finally getting to the point where they are able to give back to the school community. It's been challenging to learn advanced technology and put it use but they are more adept at it than I am. Fortunately, they have been kind enough to actually teach me. It's totally awesome. They are developing into leaders. \r\n\r\nMy students have been using this new-found learning experience to give back to the local school community. They recently, in large numbers, laser engraved keychains and cork coasters to the delight of the recipients who have been supporting the STEM clubs. They also laser engraved and cut about 250 name-personalized wood coins for visiting elementary students during our fall STEAM Tradeshow. It was an absolute hit.\r\n\r\nThe impact is that my students are more confident, they are engaging and really developing their mathematical and critical thinking skills. They share newly learned techniques with others as they continue to learn how to more effectively use the programs and equipment. We recently had a problem and they did the trouble shooting to tell me what I needed to do to get it fixed. This is exciting. All the items we have received have been used not only with my Makers Club but also with students in my STEAM and Wood shop classes to help them beautify or customized the product they make.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for the support you are providing my students. All of our 8th grade students were able to interact with the electrical components due to the funding of this project. That's over 300 excited middle school students. Every day they came to class asking about what new electricity lesson they were going to do for the day, and when done, they left happy and ENERGIZED to complete their homework and come back the next day!\r\n\r\n Many of \r\nWe do lessons that focus first on the natural resources on this Earth that we use to \"make\" energy to do work (turbines/generators) and then move on to nonrenewable resources, like batteries. From there, we more to renewable resources - solar panels, where we do an exploration building both series and parallel solar arrays. We explore how batteries and bulbs work, and how electrons \"flow\" to create a current. The students then learn how to use the multimeter to \"see\" how many volts their battery is providing, and how what happens as lights are added to that system in both series and parallel circuits. Folding in career paths in electricity allows us to highlight where they could apply what they have been learning - all important for our students before they reach high school.","fullyFundedDate":1759417006792,"projectUrl":"project/energizing-electrical-energy-exploration/9774694/","projectTitle":"Energizing Electrical Energy Explorations","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Pinner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2464903_orig.jpg?crop=1967,1967,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1771455622385","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2464903"},{"teacherId":7938458,"projectId":9774313,"letterContent":"I wanted to share a heartfelt update on how your support is transforming our classroom. Here is how your investment is making a difference in our classroom. \r\n\r\nWe've seen a particular impact on our students who struggle with executive functioning. One student who used to spend the first ten minutes of class searching for a pencil is now ready to go in seconds, thanks to their new desk organizers. That's ten extra minutes of learning every single day. Another student, who was previously afraid to get an answer \"wrong\" on paper, has completely opened up using the Expo pens and whiteboards. The ability to \"write and wipe\" has turned their math anxiety into a sense of play and exploration.\r\n\r\nYour gift did more than just buy \"stuff\"—it created an environment where students feel prepared, valued, and equipped to tackle challenges. The games acted as a \"social bridge,\" taking the pressure off direct eye contact and allowing them to open up at their own pace. Whether I am supporting a small group or managing a whole-class activity, the ability to adjust the height and move my station instantly has made our lessons much more dynamic and responsive to student needs.\r\n\r\nThe creative materials have also sparked so much joy. My students are currently using the origami and clay to work on theme-based projects, which has been wonderful for their hands-on learning and artistic expression. Students were able to personalize the keychains and present them at the goodbye banquet. It was super well received. We used the stickers in a led light nametag activity (which I failed to get photos for - oops). The casters have helped me put equipment on wheels that allow students to better use the shop space for school service projects and put water proof feet on the new benches they are making. We will be in the process of making coasters for upcoming events. The best part of this, students are learning how to ethically use technology while also learning skills such that they could open a laser engraving business.\r\n\r\nI really appreciate having these supplies as it allows me to have sufficient materials so ALL students can laser engrave something for themselves and for their families. \r\n\r\nThank You so much!
