The building blocks, puppet theater, and train tracks have helped bring my students' imaginations to life. They have enjoyed building many things and have even held impromptu math lessons using their blocks as measuring tools. They have built many collaborative cities, houses, forts, and just today an imaginary swimming pool! They have used the blocks to engineer hills for the train tracks and have been experimenting with the forces of motion in their play. They also often use the blocks and trains to create elaborate settings for their puppet shows!\r\nThe sand and sensory table have also been well loved. We began with diggers and dumpers and progressed to dinosaurs and building Jurassic lands! My scholars LOVE taking apart the trucks and putting them back together again. The feeling of using the tools on their own makes them shine with pride. When students consistently attend school, they not only stay on top of their lessons but also develop positive habits that help them succeed in the future. To encourage punctuality and commitment, our school has introduced a rewards system where students can earn exciting prizes for being on time every day. This motivates them to prioritize their education and understand the importance of being present. Regular attendance helps students build a strong foundation, and by earning these prizes, they see firsthand how consistency and effort can lead to tangible rewards.\r\nThank you to our generous donors! Our school truly appreciates your support in providing the necessary items for our students. Your contribution makes a meaningful impact on their success. The items we received were amazing, and the students were thrilled to see what they could earn. It's inspiring to see how motivated they are to do their best and come to school on time every day in order to earn these rewards. Your generosity truly makes a difference. The students thought it was so cool to earn these prizes, and they were excited to share that they will do their best to be on time for school every day. They are inspired to stay motivated and committed to their education. Again, without your support, this wouldn't be possible.","fullyFundedDate":1735703655869,"projectUrl":"project/attendance-incentives-for-students-with/9020758/","projectTitle":"Attendance Incentives for Students With 95% or More Attendance","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nino","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9703168_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y277&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726607380948","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9703168"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_4178","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":473,"numTeachers":23,"percentFrplEligible":77,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":7,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":58,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"20.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":78.4,"schoolId":4178,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Highlands Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Highlands Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/pittsburg-unified-school-district/highlands-elementary-school/4178"}
