My students love STEM activities, and the Lego Spike kits give the students the opportunity to build, problem solve, and code.\r\nWhen the boxes first arrived, the students begged to be able to help open all of the bags of parts and help sort them. We set aside an afternoon to work on building with the new kits. The students worked in pairs to create some wonderful projects to share with the class.\r\nOur goal is to get a few more kits, not only for use in our classroom, but also for STEM Club and our summer STEM Academy. Thank you for helping us get our starter kits so that we can learn how to build and code them as well as practice our communication, collaboration, and problem solving skills.","fullyFundedDate":1760719540986,"projectUrl":"project/coding-and-building-fun/9683527/","projectTitle":"Coding and Building Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bowen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4455941_orig.jpg?crop=285,285,x1175,y99&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1619575730978","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4455941"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_37405","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":117,"numTeachers":12,"percentFrplEligible":41,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":91,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"9.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":89.7,"schoolId":37405,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Highland Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Highland Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wisconsin/highland-school-district/highland-elementary-school/37405"}
