My students were so excited when they first saw our new fraction cubes and could not wait to start using them. These hands-on materials have already made a meaningful difference in the way my students are learning about fractions.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the fraction cubes during our math lessons to explore equivalent fractions, compare fractions, and better understand how different fractional parts relate to a whole. One of my favorite moments was watching students physically place the pieces next to each other and suddenly realize why fractions such as 1/2 and 2/4 are equivalent. Being able to see and touch the fractions helped turn an abstract concept into something they could truly understand.\r\n\r\nThe fraction cubes have also encouraged students to talk about their mathematical thinking, work together, and test their ideas. Instead of simply trying to remember a rule, they can use the manipulatives to investigate and explain why their answers make sense.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our fraction unit, students will use these materials to build their understanding of comparing, ordering, adding, and subtracting fractions. These fraction cubes will continue to be a valuable classroom resource for many students and many lessons to come.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and helping provide them with engaging, hands-on opportunities to learn. Your generosity has brought excitement, curiosity, and deeper understanding into our math classroom, and we are incredibly grateful for your support!","fullyFundedDate":1778614429541,"projectUrl":"project/fraction-action/10221636/","projectTitle":"Fraction Action","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hauck","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7877593_orig.jpg?crop=3648,3648,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1682714767682","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/misshauckhve"},{"teacherId":7877593,"projectId":9444827,"letterContent":"My students and I have been so excited to put these new classroom resources to use! The Ticonderoga pencils and Crayola colored pencils have already made a big difference during our daily math and writing time. Students are using them to show their thinking more clearly, especially when solving multi-step problems and illustrating their ideas in writing. The sheet protectors and laminating pouches have helped us create reusable math centers and reference tools, which means students can practice skills again and again without needing new materials each time.\r\n\r\nWhen the supplies first arrived, the excitement was immediate—especially for the dry erase markers and fidget toys! Students were eager to try everything out, and it truly felt like Christmas morning in our classroom. Many of my students don't always have access to high-quality supplies, so something as simple as a sharp pencil or a fresh marker made them feel valued and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments so far was during a small group math activity. Students used the dry erase markers and sheet protectors to solve place value problems, and I saw increased confidence as they erased and tried again without fear of making mistakes. The flexibility of these tools has encouraged more risk-taking and perseverance.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are continuing to build on these skills through hands-on math centers and collaborative activities. Students will use the laminated materials for upcoming lessons on rounding and multi-digit multiplication, and the colored pencils will support our next writing project, where students create visual representations of their arguments. The fidget toys are also helping students stay focused during independent work time, which is improving overall engagement.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for giving my students tools that support both their learning and their confidence.
