Your generosity has given my students new opportunities to learn through hands-on STEM activities and technology.\r\n\r\nThe STEM materials have made learning much more interactive and engaging for my students. They are able to work together to build, create, experiment, and problem-solve rather than simply learning about these skills through a worksheet or lesson. As they work with the materials, they practice important skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and perseverance. I love watching students test an idea, discover that it doesn't work the way they expected, and then work together to find a new solution.\r\n\r\nThe laptop has also opened up additional opportunities for learning. Technology allows my students to interact with digital resources, explore topics beyond what we have available in our classroom, and develop important technology skills that they will continue to use throughout their education. For many of my students, having access to classroom technology makes learning feel exciting and relevant to the world around them.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting for my students is having the chance to learn by doing. They are naturally curious, and the STEM materials give them an outlet for that curiosity. They become excited when they successfully build something, solve a problem, or create something they didn't think they could make. The materials also encourage students to work together, which has created opportunities for them to share ideas and learn from one another.\r\n\r\nYour donation has done more than provide supplies—it has helped create a classroom where students can explore, create, collaborate, and see themselves as problem-solvers. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to give my students these experiences, and I know they will carry the skills they are developing with them far beyond our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1788613109836,"projectUrl":"project/technology-stem-for-second-grade/10576774/","projectTitle":"Technology & STEM for Second Grade","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7230562_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1634774908893","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7230562"},{"teacherId":7534267,"projectId":10580188,"letterContent":"When I introduced the new equipment during class, my students were immediately curious and excited to try items they hadn't seen in a PE setting before—especially the EzyRollers and Sphero balls.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the resources in small-group station rotations focused on balance, motor control, and teamwork. A standout moment was watching a student who usually holds back during traditional running drills due to gross motor delays. Using the EzyRoller, he navigated the gym floor smoothly alongside his peers, fully engaged and confident in his movement. At other stations, students worked in pairs to coordinate the two-person parachutes and guided Spheros through a balance beam slalom.\r\n\r\nNext, students will work in small groups to design their own interactive movement courses, using the Sphero balls to map out targets and pathways for the Spooner boards and stomp rockets. Your donation of three Flex-Space Premium Wobble Chairs and two Adjustable Stools has already made a meaningful difference in our fourth-grade classroom.\r\n\r\nWith three classes of 25 students, our classroom is a busy place filled with discussion, collaboration, hands-on activities, and group projects. Before receiving the flexible seating, students often had to move desks around or find space on the floor when working with partners and groups. Now, they have additional seating choices that allow them to find a comfortable and supportive place to learn.\r\n\r\nThe wobble chairs and adjustable stools have quickly become a favorite part of our classroom. Students are excited to use them during independent work, partner activities, small-group discussions, and collaborative projects. Having different seating options gives students a sense of choice and ownership in their learning environment. I have noticed that students are eager to get settled into their chosen spaces so they can begin working and collaborating with their classmates.\r\n\r\nMore importantly, your generosity has helped create a classroom environment where students feel that their individual needs and preferences are valued. The flexible seating options allow us to make our learning space work better for a variety of learners while encouraging students to work together, participate, and stay engaged.\r\n\r\nYour donation was more than a gift of classroom furniture—it was an investment in our students and their learning experience. Every time a student chooses a wobble chair or adjusts a stool before beginning an activity, I am reminded of the kindness and generosity that made this possible.
