Having the spheres in each of our classrooms has already shown to be very helpful in regulating student's emotions, which then in turn helps them to refocus and continue learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the students see the breathing spheres, many get excited stating that they have seen them before. When I ask, have you ever been shown how to use it to help us calm down, they look amazed. I demonstrate the technique and within minutes the student is using the breathing sphere as a tool to help them calm down. We even have students who are upset asking for the sphere to help them. As you may be able to tell from the images, there were huge gaps of unused, odd shaped, space between shelving they had bolted to wall when they built the new school. After two years of trying to be creative with the space, I realized that I needed to fill these spaces with smaller shelves for some dynamic shelving and displaying of Reading and Writing Buddies. I played a little with where books were going to have their new house prior to my readers coming back to school. When they came back, they LOVED all the space! They loved the Diary of Wimpy Kid had their own, multi-level space. They also, quickly, brought to my attention that we were missing multiple titles!! LOL But, it made my Library Heart happy because it means they are Library Kids! \r\n\r\nThank you for helping provide these shelves which have allowed me to spread out books and feature some popular series.
