My students are born incapable to form words in their mouth through no fault on their own. Most of them have learned life in wheelchair. They have been living dependently on their caregivers who have limited exposure and financial resources. They act out mostly out of frustration from not being able to express their needs and wants; thus the tantrums and behavioral issues. The iPad will serve as their vocal chords to reconnect better with their caregivers, teachers, and eventually, to the entire world. With the small amount that you could contribute, you are giving them back their voice and importantly, enabling them to live with the rest of us.
