With immense gratitude, I want to share the remarkable difference your generous contributions have made in our sensory room.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our students are thriving and engaging in ways we never imagined. The saucer swing has become the absolute favorite among the kids. They absolutely love swinging together, and it's heartwarming to see them push each other and take turns. \r\n\r\nThe 21-piece music instrument set has been a game changer during circle time. The children eagerly choose their instruments and love singing along, with the xylophone being a particularly sought-after favorite. It's truly magical to watch their faces light up with excitement and creativity.\r\n\r\nThe hopper balls have also been a huge hit, providing endless fun and exercise. Watching the kids race each other is always a highlight, and it helps them build coordination and have fun at the same time.\r\n\r\nThe Casio keyboard has unlocked a wonderful creative outlet for our students, allowing them to explore music and express themselves in new ways. It's truly inspiring to see their creativity blossom.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the punching bag has been an invaluable tool for helping our students regulate their emotions. It provides a safe and constructive outlet for releasing energy and finding calm, which has been crucial for their well-being.\r\n\r\nEvery single one of these items has contributed to a nurturing and dynamic environment, and your generosity has truly made a world of difference for our students.\r\n\r\nThank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support and belief in our mission. Some families chose to move across the island and start over in a new community. At Haiku School we welcomed many students who had lost everything. In my class alone I had 5 families affected by the fires. Creating a safe, comfortable and cozy area filled with cushions, stuffed animals and art supplies was truly essential as well as greatly used. The students and families in my class were so grateful and felt so welcomed. They could see that there was a genuine effort to ensure they had a place to sit, take a break and if desired express their feelings with various art supplies. Our unique classroom consists of 7 fantastic kids, ranging from the sweetest kindergartener to energetic fifth graders. I am beyond exciting to share with you some of the gains and achievements we have seen in them!\r\nWhile every accomplishment has been celebrated, watching our kindergartner string the Lakeshore Alphabet beads by herself has been one of the brightest moments of my career. Just mere months ago she struggled to hold a crayon. Now she is drawing circles and the first letter of her name! The power of play is immeasurable. I hope you can see in the pictures the amount of concentration she is possessing to stay on task. \r\nThe biggest surprise was how much the older kids enjoyed the kitchen play set and food. This donation alone created massive opportunities of joint attention for our kids who struggle to connect socially. From the shape sorter to the counting and color sorting set, each toy has been vital to them learning the basic stepping stones of early childhood development. Without your donations, this school year would absolutely not have been as successful as it has been.
