This activity helps build upper body strength, agility, coordination, and problem-solving skills as they plan their path across the wall. Safety is emphasized, with students encouraged to move steadily and maintain three points of contact at all times. Your thoughtful contribution has made a tremendous impact on our students and their reading experience, and I wanted to share just how meaningful your donation has been to our school community.\r\n\r\nDog Man has long been one of the most popular and sought-after series among our young readers, and your donation brought an incredible level of excitement to our library. From the moment the books arrived, students were immediately drawn to them. Even before I had the chance to fully process and catalog them, students were eager to get their hands on these titles. I allowed a small group of students to preview the books before they were officially placed on the shelves, and it was difficult to convince them to stop reading and return them. They were so fully engaged and captivated by the stories and illustrations that they didn't want to put them down.\r\n\r\nSince then, the Dog Man books have barely stayed on the shelves. Students frequently ask me, \"Do you have the newest Dog Man book yet?\" or \"When is the next one coming in?\" It's been wonderful to see how motivated they are to continue reading, how invested they are in the characters, and how much they genuinely enjoy the series. Your donation has fueled their enthusiasm and inspired even our more reluctant readers to become excited about reading. It's no exaggeration to say that these books are in constant rotation, checked out as soon as they are returned.\r\n\r\nThe impact goes far beyond just providing books—it has helped foster a love of reading and created a buzz around literature within the school. Students now recommend Dog Man to one another, talk about the plots and characters during recess and lunch, and some have even been inspired to try their hand at creating their own comics and graphic novels. It's powerful to witness how a book series can encourage creativity, build community, and nurture a lifelong appreciation for reading.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, we have noticed that students who previously struggled to find books they connected with are now spending more time in the library, feeling proud to carry a Dog Man book under their arm. Your donation has helped build confidence in these young readers, making reading feel less like a challenge and more like a fun and rewarding adventure.\r\n\r\nThe excitement that fills the library whenever a new installment of Dog Man arrives is something truly special. You have given our students more than just books—you have given them joy, excitement, and the anticipation of getting lost in a story they love. These moments, when students light up because they found \"the perfect book,\" are exactly what we strive for as educators and librarians. Your support has made those moments happen again and again.","fullyFundedDate":1740626651916,"projectUrl":"project/unleash-the-power-of-reading-dog-man-a/9129487/","projectTitle":"Unleash the Power of Reading: Dog Man Adventures!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Svensson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3475364_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749726995220","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3475364"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_7968","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":618,"numTeachers":41,"percentFrplEligible":47,"percentAsian":9,"percentBlack":17,"percentWhite":25,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":39,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.8,"schoolId":7968,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hackberry Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hackberry Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/little-elm-independent-school-district/hackberry-elementary-school/7968"}
