As a school counselor I often have kiddos in and out of my room with a variety of needs. I really wanted to implement a sand tray in my office this year as I know how beneficial it can be, so having the sand and the family figurines in a variety of ethnicities will be extremely helpful.\r\n\r\nAs a third year counselor at the same school I feel that I have been around this demographic enough to know what I needed to change about my office or change about it this year. We even had a \"pizza making party\" complete with chef hats, pizza boxes, and all the toppings you could imagine! And, everyone made their own pizza, counting out toppings to match numbers we rolled on dice. The excitement was contagious and they joy in their faces when the first butterfly emerged was exactly what I hoped for. They brought flowers and orange slices to feed them until we could safely release them. This book is about 1 duck stuck in the mud and asks for help. along came 2 fish, then 3 moose and then 4 crickets and.. Well you get the picture.
