At the school I teach at the phrase "be a leader" is used frequently. This is true for leading others in behavior, good choices, but equally as important a love of reading. One of my greatest joys is watching them grow in their reading - their growth is exponential. 2nd grade is such an exciting time for me and my students as I watch them truly become inspired, hard working, and successful leaders. This is especially true of my low and struggling readings. It is truly amazing to watch them come in only knowing some of their letter sounds and leave reading books independently. With your help we can change a child's life, not only learning how to read but potentially also fostering a love of reading for their life. Please, help my leaders become good readers!
